How much to give minister?

I know this has been on here before and sorry about the repost. But...How much are you giving or donating to your minister? Our's is actually a close family friend and his wife, another minister, is also participating in the ceremony. I was thinking in the $150 - $200 range. Too much, too little? TIA!

I had a question regarding this too! We had our last session with our minister and I asked him when is the best time to give him his check. He just informed us at the reception dinner is fine. Now, this may seem like a silly question but I was under the impression that ministers normally have a fee for doing a wedding ceremony? He didn't mention how much he "charges" but My Fiance and I have also taken 6 (1 hour) Marriage prep courses with him as well. I just assumed he was going to tell us how much it is then we get a gift on top of that???? Is your post just talking about the "extra" your giving on top of what he is asking for?? Sorry, I'm clueless in this area...

We had 4 one hour (and pratically useless) meetings with our minister. He really likes to talk about himself and now I know all about his wedding 30+ years ago. Anyway, in our list of fees for using the church as members of the church, under the minister is says "discretionary". He has known FI for years and years and his family is involved in our service (grandaughters are our flower girls). That's why I'm leaning toward $200. I always thought it was actually a donation to the church but it doesn't say that so I guess we make the check out to our minister. It is confusing!

Are any of you girls being charged just a normal fee from your officiant?  Like their set price is $300 or whatever?  If so, are you still giving them something additional over and above that fee?  I'm not sure what to do here...

Our officiant has a set fee, but I'm sure we will give him a little extra as a tip.
