Suggestions for outdoor park wedding Oct 2010

Hello. Getting married next fall so I have plenty of time to plan, go look at parks, go over prices, etc. So far, I really like Mt. Airy. I have been to Glenwood Gardens, Alms, Ault, French park (too expensive). Going to Cincy Nature Preserve this weekend. Wedding is about 30-40 people, short and sweet. We are pretty outdoorsy, so nothing super fancy!! Thanks!!

Do you want the ceremony and reception both to be outdoors?  My ceremony is in the Rose Garden at Ault Park and is only $150, but I know it's a lot more if you want to have the reception there.

I just suggested to someone else Mt. Echo Park.  Its got one of the best skyline views in the city, and I beleive if your just doing a short ceremony its free (my cousins was free, but she didn't have any rental chairs or anything to set up).

Check out Clermont parks - Pattison Park.  That is where I'm getting married and having my reception.  Small, about 50-60 people and the cost for both the Gazebo and the lodge are $550 on a Saturday for all day use (10am-1am).  You can use whatever vendors you want, or DIY. Good luck!

You should check out Withrow Nature Preserve in Anderson Township.  They have a wedding setting with benches, so you wouldn't need to rent chairs. It also has a lodge right there with rooms to get ready, bathrooms, a kitchen etc. I think having a staging area like that really helps the day run smoothly. The lodge doubles as a backup location in case of bad weather. We had our wedding ceremony and reception there this July. They were very easy to work with and had no hidden charges (unlike Cincinnati Park District!). (They don't do receptions anymore, just ceremonies).
