A cheap videographer/photographer for a tea ceremony, not the wedding

I'm Asian-American and I'm having my tea ceremony at my home a year before my actual wedding ceremony.  The idea is to save money to hire a great photographer and videographer for the wedding but to hire a decent, more-bang-for-the-buck, perhaps hourly photographer and/or videographer for the tea ceremony.  (I would only need about three hours of coverage if that.)Would you know of a videographer and/or videographer that fits this description?  And how much is their cheapest package or their hourly rate?I've been taking a look at popular choices among brides here such as Lifetime Videos, Iconography, etc. or Lucky Clover, TM Photography, etc.  They may be fits for my wedding but I'm afraid I'm looking for something cheaper for my tea ceremony. Thanks so much for your help!

Personally?  I would hire your wedding photog and videog, and ask THEM what they think about doing the tea ceremony as well; you never know, they may be willing to throw in the tea ceremony for a much-reduced rate.

Also agree with PP. Find a photographer you like, ask them what they think about adding that in, and you'll have TWO checks off your list!

Never thought of that, what a brilliant idea!

I was just looking at the MillsFilms website while recommending them in another post, and their rehearsal dinner price (to be added into the final wedding video) is $400. So maybe they could do the tea ceremony and edit that in instead of the rehearsal dinner. Or you could see if Bob would edit it separately so you could get it sooner. I think that's a great idea to negotiate with the photographer and videographer you want to use for your wedding to do the tea ceremony as a package deal. The only issue might be if the tea ceremony is on a Saturday, they would probably want to keep the day open for a full day (higher paying) client. Could you have the tea ceremony on a Friday or Sunday?

I'll pass along the photographer doing my wedding. Very affordable:www.innovatoryphotography.comHe might charge the same price as he does for engagement shots? Not sure. Worth asking though.
