Redmoor or 20th Century??

Hello everyone! I was thinking between Redmoor and 20th Century for our reception site. Has anyone had experience with either? I am kind of on  a fixed budget and I would like to know which one is cheaper. I would like to spend around 4000 for the place, food, and some drinks. Do you think it is doable?? Any information would be helpful! Thanks!

I believe the redmoor has a 7K minimum for sat nights, not sure if you were interested in Sat vs friday.  their lowest food menu is 27pp and their lowest drink package is 12.5pp.

But imo the redmoor is incredible.  I love love love the feel of that place.

Never been to the 20th, but I think they are cheaper.  There is also a room rental fee at the redmoor.

You are looking at about $21pp if you factor in tax and gratuity.  It can probably be done, but you might want to look into fridays and sundays.  Syndicate has some cheaper options you might want to loo for friday nights, and its pretty cool.  Also the mchales places also have some rooms that are pretty affordable.  Also, wunderland.  GL!

I'm not familiar with the Redmoor, but we are using the 20th Century and can't say enough about them.  The owners are fantastic.  Everything is all about you, they're basically just big kids, so anything you want to do, they'll accommodate.  We tasted food this week and it was fantastic.  I mean not just for wedding food, for any food!  In terms of cost, we like that they don't nickel and dime us.  What is a cake cutting fee, anyway?!  (They don't change one)  If you consider Fri or Sun rent, linens and tablecloths are free.  Food and alcohol start about 18 per plate and 14 for beer, wine and soda.  Kids are half the cost and no charge for soda.  Hope that helps you run some numbers.

We looked at both places. I have actually been to a wedding on a Friday night at the Twentieth Century. Parking can be an issue there if you don't buy the extra valet parking. That said, the wedding was lots of fun and the bride and groom said the same thing that almiller said; the owners are over the top accommodating.

The Redmoor has THE BEST wedding food I've ever experienced, bar none.  Awesome!  Keep that in mind when you're choosing - assuming the quality of the food is an important factor.  Everything about the Redmoor was first class.

I am having my October wedding at The Redmoor and I have nothing but perfect interactions with Mandie there!  For a Saturday night I do have a 5000 min food/drink min and rental was 1500.
I also looked at 20th Century but it was not my personal taste; I had a friend get married there and everything was under 6K for her; but she did do appetizers-so I am not sure how much that factored in.

If you want to know more about my stuff with the Redmoor you can PM me.

We are having both our ceremony and reception at the 20th Century on a Friday night in September. We also have 150 guests. Our total venue costs are $7,000, which includes rental (which is $750 on a Friday night), valet parking, all production (lighting, for example -- we get use of a lighting technician, can use their sound system, etc) and set up, dinner, beer and wine (with the rest being a cash bar), linens, use of the VIP room, and possibly some other things I'm forgetting.

We didn't really do a food/bar per person pricing with the venue; instead, we went to them and said "we really want to get married here, we would like to feed 150 guests, offer them beer and wine, and have a great time the rest of the night. How much would that be?" The venue owner basically said "we can do that for $7K," and we said okay and signed the contract. To me this is a good deal, because if we did food/bar per person, that alone would've cost us around $5,400 with the options we wanted.

Something to keep in mind with the 20th Century is that Saturday weddings have a $1,500 rental fee and do not include linens; you'd have to pay for those separate.

I also looked into the Redmoor and the prices I was given, even for a Friday wedding, were going to be a decent amount more than at that 20th Century. Plus, I love the 20th Century, and my fiance and I have a history with that venue. If you look into the 20th Century, ask to see their wedding photo book -- it really helps you get an idea of what it's going to look like during a wedding, which is a lot different than how it will look when you walk into the place.

And as others have stated, the owners of the 20th Century are absolutely fantastic. We just went there again yesterday to show my mom the venue and ask some questions, and they're just so helpful, and they have all kinds of ideas you might not have thought of.

I really don't know if either place can be had for $4,000 when it's all said and done, but you can always ask! Good luck to you!

I loved the 20th Century its gourgous. I did not like the Redmoor because linwood is so crazy. But we decided to go a very different direction with ours.
