Recommend your favorite "budget venue"

A friend is just starting to look and wants unique, but on a budget. East side or downtown is best, but she might be open to other areas if the venue is perfect. Her choices before realizing prices were the zoo ad the aquarium.  Might help to know what type of venue she's looking for.  TIA!

How many people?

I think that the Anderson Center is relatively inexpensive.

Fairfield Community Arts Center or Tori's Station in Fairfield. FCAC is more unique, and Tori's Station is very budget friendly.

A very unique place to try would be the Clifton Cultural Arts Center, it's the historic Clifton School next to the new Fairview German Language School. We looked into it because I wanted something different and on a budget and I loved it, but my FI wasn't as excited.

The prices were between $600-$1000 depending on how many rooms you use. The price doesn't include much besides the space, but they also don't have very many rules yet either. I think the first wedding/reception they are having is this summer.

If she is open to Fridays, you can make many venues work. I did mine at the Bell Center on Friday and with food and drink it was a great price. I got a great deal and loved it. We still get compliments on the food, drink and decor (and we didnt do much). Its worth a look.

Sorry for the double post, I just looked back at my list from when I was looking at locations and thought of another very unique, budget friendly venue, the American Sign Museum.  Right now it is located in Walnut Hills, but in 2011 they are moving to a location in Camp Washington. Not the best areas, but definitely a unique setting.

Here's a link to an article on budget weddings that was published in The Knot.  It's full of great ideas.  If she doesn't have to have both the ceremony and the reception at the same location, Sem Villa Chapel in Olde Milford is a great location and is extremely reasonable ($250 maybe??).

If the wedding is in the "off" season she can get some great deals!  At the Madison we get Friday night pricing on a Saturday in November. We also were able to get a discounted bar package. Also, since we booked in December of 2008 we were able to keep 2008 prices.
