Budget $7,000- $8,000 for 200-250 people

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a wedding for September of 2011 and would like advice and help on finding a venue for a budget of about $7,000 to $8,000 for 200 to 250 people. Thanks for your time.

Receptions has packages for $28/pp, all-inclusive.  Kids are half that, I think, so $14/pp.  You just take care of the cake, flowers, and DJ.

Maybe try the Oasis Golf Club?  We looked there for our wedding and it was really affordable.  Centerpiece flowers and cake were included in their costs.

We used Receptions and it was very reasonably priced.  They also have centerpieces so you don't even need to do flowers if you don't want to.

    Welcome!

Your first thing to do is to figure a budget.  Is that amount including centerpieces, DJ and cake?  If so, subtract from that (figure 600 for DJ and 600 for cake).  If not, then figure at $8000.  Most halls add 18-20% as service charge/tax/whatever (it's fairly standard).  So you have roughly $6600 left.  $6600/250 people is 26.40 per person.  That is the maximum you can spend to stay within your budget.  If you need to cut the budget, cutting your guest list is the best way.  6600/200 is 33.00 per person.  It's a big difference, because that seems to be a cutoff point for most halls.

Would you consider a Friday night?  You can save money that way.  We saved $10/pp off of the reception.  I would look at Receptions (especially Receptions South), the Madison, and the Syndicate (although I am biased toward the last one, pics in bio :P ).  GL!!

Here's a link to a Knot article on budget weddings.  Excellent info and suggestions:
