Looking for an affordable bartender service for June wedding.Any suggestions?

Hello ladies and Happy New Year!

Can anyone recommend an affordable bartender service for my June 18th wedding? I'm getting married at Oak Ridge Lodge in Mt. Airy Forest and we're using Chef's Choice catering company. We are planning to provide the beer and wine for our guests only but don't want to worry about serving guests. I think it would be easier to have a bartender do this. So far we're thinking that we would need one from 6-10pm.

Any suggestions/recommendations are appreciated :).

I'm looking for the same thing for June 25th.  I know that the Cincinnati Bartending school will send a student free of charge, just pay tips.  They don't offer a contract though and that scares me.

If you frequent any bars you might ask if their bartenders also do private parties.  DD paid $25 per hour for 2 (not $25 each per hour) bartenders for her reception. We had 180 guests and 2 was perfect. They were busy but they were so nice to people and really kept things moving at the bar.  They were there for cocktail hour through the end of the reception. DD and DSIL provided all the alcohol, bartenders brought the - can't think of the word this morning but garnishes.  DSIL had also bought all the pop for mixing and that sort of thing, the bartenders were instructed to pick up anything we might not have enough of.  DSIL didn't realize how many people would just ask for pop to drink, not just mixed in to drinks so they had to run out and get Coke, etc.  That was about a 5 minute trip.  (Oxford, Ohio).

DD didn't hire them, she asked the caterer (All Things Catered in Hamilton) if they could recommend people and they could. I don't know if she asked or they offered or what but ACT hired the bartenders for us.

They did a fabulous job, I wish I would tell you who they work for but I don't know. You might contact All Things Catered and ask if they will tell you who they recommend.

The reception was at Oxford Community Arts Center, even though your reception isn't there, they might tell you who they recommend. They had had these 2 particular bartenders at many events and were pleased that was who we were having.

The 2 bartenders set up, then cleaned up. They had all the leftover alcohol, pop etc boxed up and ready for us to remove from the reception hall. It was great. All the trash was picked up, the area was clean.

One thing that might concern you, and you'd want to work out ahead of time. They put out a tip jar, off to the side and wasn't obtrusive. I'd prefer it not have been there. I saw it but didn't tell them to put it away, I just had other things to do - greeting people, etc.    I don't think DD and DSIL noticed it at all.  As I said, it was out of the way and if people chose to throw something in, so be it.
