Hi ladies! I'm going to apologize now for the length of this post!
Do NOT take your wedding dress here! Our wedding is this Saturday and I took my dress there two weeks ago to get cleaned before the wedding b/c I bought a sample dress and it needed to be cleaned (Fabulous Bridal referred them to me). I called and expressed my concern about getting it cleaned b/c I've heard horror stories about other brides and their experiences with getting their wedding dress cleaned. The lady I spoke to reassured me that she would take good care of my dress and that she's the only one who cleans wedding dresses. So I dropped my dress off on a Saturday and picked it up this past Friday. When I opened the bag to review her work, I was upset to find that some of the detailing on my dress was coming off!!! I asked her about it and she just blew it off. I was so upset that I had to take my dress BACK to my seamstress a week before my wedding to have her fix what this cleaner damaged that I just paid for my dress and left. While I was at the seamstress we noticed a blue mark on the front of my dress. By this point I was ready to throw up b/c I was so upset! What bride needs to deal with this a week before her wedding?! So this past Monday morning I called Vanovers to see if I could speak to the owners and no one would let me, they said that I could speak to the manager and they wouldn't be in until noon. So I called at 12:30 - while I was on my way to another cleaners to see if they could get the blue spot out - and no mananger! They took my name and number and said that the manager would call me. Now it's 4:30pm on Monday and still no call from a manager (I had told them on my first call that day that I had a complaint and wanted to speak to the owners). I was so mad that I called them back and got the same lady that I spoke to in the morning and she said that she was the manager - which she wasn't. So I told her that she damaged my dress and that I don't feel that what I paid them to clean my dress was worth the outcome of me having to go back to my seamstress and to another cleaners to get the spot out. She denied that she damaged my dress or put a spot on it - but I have looked a my dress a million times before I took it to them and it wasn't in that condition when I dropped it off! Needless to say, she is only refunding me half of my money - but has not once said that she was sorry for the stress that she has put on me or that she damaged my dress! She said that she would mail me a check back for my refund and I asked her if she could do it in the next day or two so that it wasn't sitting in my mailbox while I"m on my HM. She said that she'd try to. So now it's Wednesday and no check and no phone call to let me know she mailed it, so I called her and she said that she hasn't had time to mail it!!!
So now I'm having a friend go and pick up the cash for me b/c I don't have the time, since I live in NKY, to get up to Reading to make right HER mistake!! I'm beyond frustrated and mad at them and I highly advise no other bride to trust them!!! They obviously do not care about us!
I am still going to try and contact the owners to voice my complaint and how rude this woman was to me throughout this process.
I just don't want another bride to have the same problem that I'm having - don't go there!
