Watch out for dyed shoes!!

Hello! My cousin is a photographer and she called me yesterday to let me know to NOT get dyed shoes with my wedding gown. (I wasn't planning on it but apparently this is the "IN" thing!). It was an outdoor wedding and of course it rained. The dye from the shoes bled all over the bride's gown. So, if this is something you are considering, just be careful!!!!

I also heard the same thing.  In addition, I heard that any impurity or spec on the shoe will cause discoloration.  Best to be left to the pros, not DIY using RIT Dye.

Even the pros can bleed- that's what I was told at David's Bridal where they told me after they were dyed, I could waterproof them! I told the lady if I was PAYING for someone to dye my shoes I would assume that they would be waterproofed or whatever it took to keep them from running onto my dress! In addition, the lady told me it was common for women's feet to end up the same color as their shoes on the soles. This didn't sound kosher to me...

I really love the idea of my girls wearing shoes that match their dress, but not if it's going to discolor the soles of their feet!

Colorful Soles in reading sells a product that waterproofs your shoes.  They don't waterproof them because some brides dye their shoes black after their weddings.  I personally waterproofed mine just because I was afraid of the consequences.
