Yep.  The Greece bailout has really killed the euro.  Great for Americans, not so great for those of us living here.

We've been watching it and last night I finally convinced my hubby to take one more trip to our favorite little island that is on the Euro-St. Barth!  The exchange rate is below what is was on our honeymoon almost 4 years ago.

Good for Americans traveling abroad, not our economy. It's not just Greece; Portugal, Spain, and Ireland are all having similar issues. And the Germans are pissed at having to rescue a fiscally reckless country. The Euro has been over-valued for quite a while.

That's why the UK and the Scandinavian countries didn't join the Euro.  Too much unknown with the Eastern European nations.

I'm taking a holiday in Canaries in Sept (actually to go to someone's wedding!) so i'm praying the euro takes a bigger tumble!!

Didn't the Euro start off as 1:1 with the USD?

Although the election issues won't be helping our economy right now!!

We are going to Italy on our honeymoon so I have been watching the Euro closely as we are considering pre-paying for our hotels.  As much as I would love to see the Euro tank for the sake of our honeymoon costs, I don't think that this would be good for the world economy in general.  I work in finance so I am more concerned about having a job than saving some money on our honeymoon at this point!
