Carribean Nightlife

I would love to go to an island in the Carribean for our honeymoon but we are not the type to stay in a resort and ONLY see the resort. I'd like to go to an island that has bars/casinos/nightly events but is also safe of course. Any recommendations? Thanks!

    Cozumel, Mexico. It was only a 10-15 cab ride to downtown and they had Senor Frogs, Margaritaville and a few others. We never actually went downtown at night, but the places looked pretty cool.

    How about Nassau, Bahamas - plenty of nightlife there and there's the Crystal Palace Casino.

    Puerto Rico has a hoppin nightlife with bars, casinos, etc.  I'm not totally sure what you mean by "safe" since every place has crime of one type or another.  Just be smart about going out at night.
