Need Help Deciding WHERE- sunny & warm

Hello all!! I need your help :)

We are getting married in October 2012 and need help figuring out where to go for our honeymoon! We definitely want to go somewhere sunny & warm with a beach. I was thinking someone down in the Caribbean. Budget is between $3,000-$4,000 and I would prefer it to be All Inclusive! We are 24 & 25 years old.
oh and I wish there was such a thing as an AI resort with a waterpark lol but I haven't been able to find such a thing.

Any ideas?!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

Re: Need Help Deciding WHERE- sunny & warm

  • I have looked into Caribbean honeymoons, and honestly 3-4 thousand is going to be hard to do.
I would sugget trying somewhere like the florida keys.
  • bummer :( I figured it would probably be at least towards the $4,000 side of my budget... but I was hoping I'd be able to find something.
  • You can definitely go to an AI for your budget! Check out Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. They have the best prices. Check out expedia for package deals.

Just remember that it is hurricane season in October.. that is the problem we are running in to. We are considering Aruba, it is out of the hurricane zone.

On a side note, I haven't talked to a person that has had a hurricane interupt their vacay, it's just something to keep in mind.

Also, we have found all inclusive resorts for 7 days there, for the 2 of us, for $1900 (including airfare!)
  • wow. I guess I have been looking in all of the wrong places.

Sorry I gave you incorrect information. thanks ladies for informing me. I will have to look into it further
  • When I was looking I used Allinlcusiveoutlet.com and did all of my research on there. It was nice to go through some different areas and see what they had to offer and see reviews and the amenities up front. I found out that All Inclusives were a lot cheaper than I had ever thought. I had always gone to Sandals websites and looked it up and was blown away by how expensive it was. So I was really excited to check out that website and find out that it was WAY within my budget. We took a trip in September (The middle of hurricane season) and it was gorgeous! Some afternoons it might have a few minutes of rain but the entire trip was amazing. We ended up getting vacation insurance just in case, but we didn't need it! We went to Mexico and I choose this place because it was very affordable and there were so many things to do. We ended up staying in a resort right outside of Playa Del Carmen in the Riviera Maya region. A lot of the reviews said that this area was safer then places like Jamaica or the Dominican Republic because this entire portion of the country is tourists and the people that work at the resorts. Plus there was so much to do in the area. The list of things to do in the Riviera Maya is never ending. We had a hard time picking what activities we were going to do. After we picked out our resort we ended up going to a local travel agent though and he was able to book our vacation for cheaper and end up including a lot of extras in for free. I know that the information seems daunting but you should figure out your priorities first. Ours were: Lots of Restaurants on the property, Bars on the property, within walking distance to Playa Del Carmen, Entertainment on the property, and Water Sports. Anyway, hope that information helped and good luck booking your vacation! Remember, don't worry about the hurricane season, just use trip insurance!

Angela, paragraphs are your friend.  That's hard to read.

OP, my husband and I have been to Sandals resorts 3 times and they've always been fantastic.  We've gone to the Royal Bahamian twice in the Bahamas and Sandals Negril in Jamaica.  I like the one in the Bahamas better b/c there were more pools and restaurants.  Both were great though and they treat you very well.  There are many commercials on right now about getting $400 off your airfare to the Bahamas.  I'm not sure if you have to fly at a certain time or just book by a certain time.
