In Maui WWYD: Fairmont or Four Seasons?

We are booked at the Fairmont Kea Lani in October for 5 days but now I am hearing the Fairmont isn't really couple friendly and I hear good things about the Four Seasons in Maui. Which hotel would you choose? We want a hotel that feels like we are being pampered and honeymooners....

  • We stayed at the Fairmont and it was wonderful. We did go with 20 adults for a wedding but I did not notice it being in appropraite for couples. there were some  families there but not tons of kids running aorund or anything to close to that it was GORGEOUS, the service was great, food was good (very pricey but all of Maui is). We loved it, the four seasons is nice too but I feel you cant go wrong with either. Best of luck,

  • Fairmont!! I love the Fairmont's and that is where Forgetting Sarah Marshall was filmed!! I love the white villa look!
  • If you want to feel pampered, there is no place like the Four Seasons. That's why we're staying there :)
  • My sister stayed at the Fairmont for her honeymoon, and loved it...but when we started looking at Maui for our honeymoon she recommended FS. She said they visited the property and ate at Spago and said it was fabulous! So we decided on 10 nights at FS. They were doing a 5th night free special recently, you should check it out! If the pricing is comparable, I say go for it! But, you'll have a wonderful honeymoon no matter which one you decide on!
  • We stayed at the Fairmont last summer for our first anniversary vacation.  I really liked it.  It is an all suite hotel which is also nice.  I definitely would not think of the Fairmont as all families or overrun by children.  In my mind, that would describe the Grand Wailea, for example.  It is a very couple friendly hotel. The 4S is right next door, and is very luxurious.  We did not stay there as it was much more expensive for us than the Fairmont, at the time. You can't really go wrong with either.

  • Sarahne - We'll probably be in Maui on the same days :) We're doing the Grand Wailea though
  • FYI: Forgetting Sarah Marshall was actually filmed at the Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu. You can't go wrong with either hotel but the Four Seasons definitely has a higher level of service.
  • meghan - we're date twins! :)Thats awesome about being in Maui at the same time. I guess I'll see you there lol :)
