help me plan! :)

Hi, So a little bit about myself: My fiance and I met in college. We dated for two and a half years and then he proposed to me this past may in Disney world! We set the date for our wedding to be May 29, 2010 at the school where we met. We have the venue and reception site booked, as well as the photographer. Now Im starting to think about the honeymoon. We decided that as much as I love disney, we don't want anything too crazy busy, We just want to go somewhere where we can relax and take some time to decompress. We were originally thinking of going to Arizona/New Mexico. Then we decided that we wanted a beach trip. We thought about Hilton Head, but the more I looked into it the more I saw it was more of a family vacation destination. So now we are thinking the carribean. Im just afriad that the area outside resorts are kinda no so safe. All inclusives would be great and I would love to be able to go to Hawaii, but our budget is max $5000 for 9 nights. Any suggetions?

  • I would highly recommend getting a travel agent.
  • a carribbean cruise or sandals

  • Check out Mexico, Jamaica, or Dominican Republic. They have fabulous AI's that won't bust your budget. 9 nights is perfect! Save Hawaii for an anniversary trip!
  • Congrats on your upcoming wedding! That is so cool that your fiancé proposed in Disney, I love that. Since you are looking for a nice relaxing honeymoon location, I think you should try Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay. It is a brand new resort opening in March in Montego Bay Jamaica. Secrets resorts are all-inclusive, adults-only and known for over the top customer service. The resort will be located on a ½ mile of private beach and it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. While staying there you will have 24-hour room service, unlimited premium drinks and a mini bar that is restocked daily. You will also be able to eat at any of the seven gourmet restaurants with no reservations or wristbands required. The resort will also have tons of activities and a fabulous spa. Good luck with your decision!
  • def. go to a travel agent (we used Liberty Travel).  We are going to 4 islands on Hawaii for 13 night for about $6600 (includes all airfare, car rentals, and Hyatt hotels). It's not all inclusive, but we do get free breakfast everyday.  You may be able to do 9 nights under $5000.  Good Luck!
