We are looking for a place to go for our honeymoon in either Riviera Maya or Puerto Vallerta.Hopefully looking to spend under 2000 for the both of us. (not including excursions..)

I'd recommend Secrets Maroma Beach -- we're headed there in November.  We're paying about $3500 however, we are in a higher room category -- you probably could do around $2000 for 6 nights in the intro room category.  We are working with a TA but ended up finding a fantastic deal on Orbitz and the TA was able to price match.  So, I'd definitely shop around on Orbitz, cheap carribean, apple vacations.  I've also heard good things about Valentin Imperial Maya and I believe it is less expensive than Secrets Maroma.  Definitely doable for 2k or under.  GL!

Depending how long you want to stay - you could definitely book the Valentin Imperial Maya for under $2,000 They are having a really good sale right now.

i agree with Valentin Imerial,, stayed there last year. We got engaged there it is paradise. NO NEED to upgrade the regular rooms are beautiful,, we upgraded once we were there for the last 3 nights of our vacation and they gave us a great deal..
