Hawaii

Has anyone gone? or is anyone going??? I am nervous about the light ....we will be going from boston to dallas which is not a problem (4 hours) but i am nervous about the dallas to hawaii leg of the trip (8 hours) on american airlines. WOndering if anyone took this flight and if there is any room to move or if its like and other american airlines flight where you are jammed.

Re: Hawaii

  • We went in June and flew US Airways, which was a perfectly fine flight, but definitely skimpy on the space, even the bigger plane for the longer portion. We flew Chicago to Phoenix and then Phoenix to Maui. I wasn't uncomfortable, but it was a bit tight. Depends on what aircraft, but I'm sure they use the same Boeings for the longer portion.
  • I would love to go for my honeymoon next may, but still undecided. i was looking into the sheraton in oahu along waikiki beach.

  • I flew to Maui from Tampa, FL, through Dallas on American. I had an window seat and I made sure to request that months in advance so I could prop my head up and sleep. It was not bad at all. I am a great flyer though but I was fine. I did bring my laptop with some movies and they provided movies as well. BUt seriously Maui was the best trip I have ever been in my life and the trip was worth every penny and every minute. ENJOY You will love it!

  • P.S. if you're thinking about Maui, you can read my Maui Honeymoon Review under my Vendor Reviews tab on my bio.
  • We flew US Airways from Newark to Phoenix to Honolulu and back. It was fine, a little crowded, full flights. Bring a travel neck pillow. All airlines are cutting flights now, so their remaining flights all have more passengers and are more crowded.
  • If you can get the emergency exit rows or the bulkhead rows, those both have more leg room. We spent 3 week on Maui (getting married) - it's gorgeous!
