Poll: Taking rings on HM?

Hi ladies -- I was wondering if everyone took their e-ring and wedding band on their honeymoons, especially where you might have to take it off and leave it in the hotel room (for the beach, water sports, etc.?). Just curious -- leaving on Monday and just thought about it and wasn't sure what I should do.

Re: Poll: Taking rings on HM?

  • A lot of girls have posted this question, and typically get the same answer which is why wouldn't you bring your rings? Do you plan on leaving your rings at home anytime you go on vacation from now on or venture into an unknown city? The only time you should be cautious is if you are doing water related activities where it could slip off during jet skiing or snorkeling type stuff. I have never had this problem, but of course would be weary and careful. My advice is just leave them locked in the safe in your hotel room when you go down to the beach or on sporty excursions. Other than that, wear them and enjoy them! Wouldn't you miss your brand new wedding bands during the trip that celebrates your new marriage? HTH! :0)
  • I bought a package of those ring snuggie things at walmart for water/action related outings. Its just a soft plastic thing that slips onto your ring to make it tighter to your finger, Id rather be safe than sorry since I dont want to take off my ring & leave it behind.

  • I left my rings in the safe for water sports.
  • Get your rings insured and stop worrying.
  • Thanks for the advice ladies -- I checked out all the recent posts because I assumed somebody would have asked this recently but didn't see it.  Haven't insured it yet so need to get on that pronto.  We're going to Thailand so we were just worried about walking around looking touristy and like big targets.  I'm all for wearing it everywhere but DH is definitely worried about it!  I like the cover idea thing from Walmat and will check that out.  Thanks again.
  • We've taken ours on every trip we've ever taken and never once had a problem. For some events we put them in the safe, but actually wear them the majority of the time. We had them sized to ensure they fit properly.

  • Insure both your rings. Make sure they are insured for everything theft, loss, oops I dropped it down the drain, toilet, the garbage disposal ate it etc. And then make sure they fit snuggly. I wouldn't worry about it too much just relax and enjoy your HM.
  • Absolutely! I don't see the point of not wearing them. Crime happens everywhere. I live in London and see tourists all the time, I think the way you act makes you stand out. I notice when people look scared or uncomfortable. Stand tall and confident if you are not.
  • We took our rings and had no problems at all. I never take my rings off unless they are being cleaned for fear of losing them. We snorkeled and swam and had no problems at all.
  • If you insure your rings with a place like Jewelers Mutual, you are covered. Be careful if you're insured with a HO policy though. In that case, your HO premium could increase with a loss. With JM, you're safe.
