Have no idea where we want to go! Ideas?

Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to all of this but here goes nothing!  My fiance and I have no idea where we want to go on our honeymoon!  I think that if I left this up to him we'd end up elk hunting in Canada so I need to give him some guidance without being pushy but I have no clue where to go!  he doesn't want to go to Mexico or anywhere close to it, I don't want to go big game hunting!  We thought about renting a motor home and driving around just kinda sightseeing but that is going to be too expensive.  We aren't big beach people but I would like to have the option to go to the ocean, and we're trying not to go where everyone goes on their honeymoon.  Any suggestions are appreciated!

  • What kind of budget do you have?Maybe Europe? Or CA and tour the wineries?

  • well you have almost a year to work on it. my suggestion? get your budget in order and then go and visit a TA. it sounds like your DH likes the outdoors and you like the beach. have you considered costa rica? there's TONS of outdoor things to do as well as beautiful beaches.

  • Wow!  We would love to go to Europe but that's not in the budget, we have a house so considering that there's a mortgage payment involved I'm affraid to say the honeymoon budget might be under $100.00, that makes it harder.
  • I don't know how keen you are on camping, but it might a option.  My fi and I recently went on a cross country trip in my station wagon. We visited glacier national park and yellowstone and camped in the parks. Sites were like $15 I think and you can make sure to get ones that have a toilet and running water in the campground as well.    We got some beautiful views and photos and some great memorys. It was a lot of fun and not as rough as I thought it would be. I actually got engaged on that trip with one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. Gas was our main cost on this trip because we mostly packed our own food. The restaurants around the parks were a bit expensive though.

  • Hey you can go to California! Theres tons of things to do in California. If he craves the outdoors, and you enjoy site seeing, go out to Yosemite National Park. It has been said that Yosemite is "life changing". Also California has plenty of opportunities to do all kinds of things, from Wine Country to San Francisco, not to mention the beaches you wanted. Just fly into Fresno or San Jose and drive up the coast to see the sights!! That is essentially what me and my FH are doing, except we are flying from Philadelphia INTL to Fresno, CA, renting a car and driving to Yosemite from there, to Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, and then ending up in Bryce Canyon, Utah. Good luck with your planning!
