Fun, theme park, So Cal honeymoon ideas?

Ok, me and my fiance aren't looking for lay on the beach for a week kinda honeymoon. I'm trying to put together a fun, like theme park, exciting kind of honeymoon. I think we've settled on Southern California. (were getting married in AZ and don't fly) I'm looking for ideas on what to do, or package ideas. I'm thinking it will be about a week to 2 weeks. On the list is def. 6 flags Magic mountain, and some time in San Diego, (my fiance is under 21 and can gamble there). I was going to try to do waterparks but I don't think they will be open (it will be the first week of April.) maybe Disneyland, that kind of thing. We are big on the outdoors, so I was thinking deep sea fishing or maybe a night or two at Big Bear lake. I would like to keep it under $1000 bucks, and I'm trying to find a honeymoon registry to do. The problem with that is that I don't like that most places take fees out. I was thinking of creating just a pay pal account that people can donate however much they want to? We're kinda young and don't really want fancy kitchen stuff and your standard wedding gifts so were hoping to get a good chunk of money for our honeymoon. I found a website that you purchase a card for a flat price and get into a bunch of places for free at smartdestinations.com so that helps. I know this post was kinda all over the place so thanks for reading and any ideas will help! :)

Re: Fun, theme park, So Cal honeymoon ideas?

  • How about Knott's Berry Farm? I used to live in OC and loved going there!!
  • the queen mary in long beach is fun and can be romantic at night. they also have a ghost themed tour that's pretty entertaining.
  • I live in orange County but we always go to san diego for weekends, do at least one of there theme parks either Sea World, Wild Animal Park, or San Diego Zoo. So many other things to do as well, check out old town san diego for great mexican food or gas lamp district for the more tourist-y restaurants, go walk the beach i forget what the area is called but over by the cruise line ships there are shops to walk around and good seafood places...so much fun stuff to do!! I am excited for you, LOL! Sorry not much of the deep sea fishing or big bear type but I am sure you can find cool things there... have you been to Catalina Island? You can take a boat ride out there and spend the day there its pretty fun, you can also go whale watching...blah blah blah, you can easily spend 2 weeks!
  • ditto the suggestion for Catalina!  I used to live in Southern California & LOVED 6 Flags & Knotts!  Good luck!
no identifiable siggy pictures anymore, thanks a lot stupid nest!
