Cheap Honeymoon Ideas

I live in Ohio. And me and my fiance are on a pretty tight budget (under $1000). Does anyone have any ideas on what we can do that is still fun and romantic but still cheap enough to not break our budget?

Re: Cheap Honeymoon Ideas

  • What time of the year and for how long? I think lake erie is always fun, but can be pricey. If it were me and something in the winter I would go to Hocking hills and rent a cabin with a fire place and hot tub and just chill out for a week. Also, If you go to cheap hotels you can travel to any of our surrounding states. How about Wheeling WV for a little gambiling trip. I really like to camp and that is cheap. Most places have cabins you can rent. I hope this helps. I can think of more ideas if you let me know what time of the year and if you want to travel out of the state. Not sure how much everything would cost by I have been to St. Louis MO and OMG is it beautiful and romantic with the arch, stone streets, the river and the river boats. GL

  • there are plenty of things. you can check airlines for deals (soutwest etc..). perhaps fly somewhere for a few nights just to get away. i dont know which airlines fly to and from ohio (or other surrounding airports). you could go to chicago for a few days, or the poconos, or canada even! montreal and toronto can be driven to and are really fun.

  • You can look into Niagara Falls.  If you have not ever been there, you will love it and typically prices go WAY down after the summer season.  It is beautiful in September, if that is where you are planning to go.  There are also all sorts of fun and beautiful things going on in Upstate NY, which would be a close enough drive for you, but far enough to get away.  Check out the finger lakes regions and the adirondacks.  Good luck!!!
  • how about Canada since you live so close? It only cost $45 foe the new passport card to travel there if you don't already have a passport and it would be different and i think very romantic!
