Norwegian Cruise Lines?

Anyone have any experience with this line?  I'm looking into booking their new ship, the "Epic" for my honeymoon and just wanted to know if anyone had any insight.TIA

Re: Norwegian Cruise Lines?

  • We had a lot of fun on a NCL cruise in March. We were on the Jewel and it was a great time. The food wasn't always the best in the main dining room, but since you're going on a new ship I'm sure they will focus on that at least for the first year. Also, I've seen Blue Man Group and they're amazing, so make sure you don't miss the show!
  • went on NCL about 2 years ago on the Dawn... it was AWESOME! best cruise I have been on!
  • http://1bkanl.cruiseepic.com/I found that on my TAs website... it looks like an amazing ship !

  • We just got back from a NCL cruise... Aweful.  We have done carnival, royal caribbean and now nCL.  We are not picky, hard to please people and pretty much go with the flow and dont complain but it was bad.  They rave about the "Freestyle dining" but they have to have 10 other restaurants because the food in the main dinig room is aweful.  When I pay for a cruise I expect the food in the dining room (which i ALREADY PAID FOR!) to be decent and the specialty restaurants (which they charge $10-35 extra for) to be amazing- this was not true with NCL. again we are not picky eaters but found the food was so much better on RCI.  The balcony cabin was by far the smallest cabin we have ever stayed in as well. We will never spend the $ on a NCL cruise again.  We made the best of it, but found they nickle and dime you and you dont get the quality and serice we recieved on both RCI and even carnival.
  • I have been on quite a few cruises, and ncl is one of our first picks when picking a cruise line. It along with Royal Caribbean are by far the favourites for my family. The bedding on the NCL line is incredible (something that we noticed stands out a lot), as well as the tipping and meal options are all better on this line than the other's we've tried. As well, NCL usually always has better itineraries than the other lines, and for better prices. The entertainment is amazing as well. I think any cruise on NCL would be great, but to go on a brand new ship makes them even better (we went on the Dawn in it's inaugural season). I've been looking into the Epic as well for a Honeymoon and would definitely recommend them.
  • FI and I just decided to go on a NCL cruise on the new Epic in Jan. 2011! I got a brochure about it in the mail this weekend and it looks amazing! One thing that stands out to me is the way the rooms are layed out. The family friendly rooms are all clearly labeled and close to the kids center. I know this doesn't guarantee us a room away from kids, but it should help. We both love kids, just not on the honemoon. Also there seems to be a good number of adult only areas.
