Barcelona Recommendations

My fiance and I are spending Thanksgiving in Barcelona. We already have our accommodations booked. But we aren't totally sure what we'll be doing while we are there. Does anyone have recommendations for restaurants, markets, sights, really any must sees? TIA!

Re: Barcelona Recommendations

  • Parque Gurrell, La Sagrada Familia, Las Ramblas (at the end there's a sweet boat musuem and you can go on a boat ride), The Gothic Quarter, the Magic Fountains that have lights and music at night! There's a fresh food market on Las Ramblas too! There's a ton there! I loved it!

  • Oh I loved Barcelona.  My fiance and I were there last year.  There is a nice holiday market in the gothic quarter outside of the cathedral. On Sundays, some locals get together and do a local dance outside as well. We also really enjoyed La Sagrada Familia.  I know its touristy, but we liked the hop on hop off bus tour as well.  We used it to get a feel for the city layout as well as transportation instead of cabs.  Let me know if you have any questions!
  • Parque Guell is amazing and it is free to enter (at least when we were there in 2007).  We found the best views of Barcelona from the park.  One of the bus lines will take you to the nearest stop just a few blocks away.  It is uphill from the bus stop though so be sure you have comfy walking shoes!  The longest park bench in the world is in the park - its a great way to see Gaudi's work.
