Excellence Playa Mujeres--Thoughts?

So now I'm looking into this AI. Is the upgrade to the Excellence Club worth it? Also is it a far drive from the airport?

Any reviews on the rooms/service/food/activites would be great!!

We stayed at the Excellence Riviera- which has a lot of the same features. The food was amazing, especially at the French place. We stayed in just a basic room and it was beautiful... didnt see the need to upgrade to the Excellence Club. I have heard that the star employees from Riviera were sent to Playa which make it much better

just so you know how to budget when we were there in Oct 2008 taxi cabs were $30-$35 each way from the resort to Cancun and Playa (from Excellence Riviera)
