Cabos mexico sept. 2013 honeymoon

Hello.  Just curious if anyone can give me pointers on a honeymoon towards the beginning of sept. of this year in Cabos mexico?  My fiance and I have done a ton of research and saw some postings on the community board about Dreams being an option.  We want something under 3K for 6 or 7 nights.  One place we looked into was the Riu Palace which orbit and other sites like that have given good reviews.  We of course would prefer adults only but I feel like we would have to pay more for that.  Riu seemed like a nice balance but thats just based on what the internet says.

Is there anyone out there that could possibly give me some pointers?  I would greatly appreciate it!  Thank you so much!  :)

Check out Secret Marquis. It's adult only and should not be too much more than Dreams. I can't be sure, but it's one of the only adults only AIs in Cabo (there's also Pueblo Bonito Pacifica.)

EDIT- forgot to add. If you stay at Secrets, you can also visit Dreams and use their property and restaurants. However, you cannot visit Secrets if you stay at Dreams. It may be worth the little extra money to do that!

  • wow thank you all so much for the info!  Thanks for the cruise info as well as that writeup regarding cabos.

  • thanks!!  Yeah at first we thougts secrets looked really cool but then we didn't know if "Adult Only" meant something else lol!!  But what that means is its more couples-based which is really cool.  Its nice to have the option to visit dreams if we book there too.  I will keep you posted!  And again, thanks for the info!
  • LOL Adults only means noone under 18. It's definitely not a risque resort. Desire would be, though!

  • We went to a RIU Palace in Playa Del Carmen (Riviera Maya) and it was great. Since we were going during the school year our travel agent said there wouldn't be many kids and he was right. The entire 7 days we were there we saw two kids! The nice thing about the RIU Palace brand is they were nicer then the regular "RIU" ones. They are much more upscale and fancy. We really enjoyed our stay and it was great.

  • I've been to cabo twice.  Once we stayed at the Melia Cabo Real.  It was a big place and one of the cheaper ones to stay at.  8 days was about 2500( but that was with airfare included through expedia or something like that.)  There were kids but they had activities throughout the day to keep them busy.  Also keep in mind that in september most kids will be back in school so you shouldn't have too many there I don't think.
The next time we went (for our honeymoon) we stayed at Zoetry Casa del Mar. It was fabulous, but It's much smaller, so it's twice as expensive (again with the airfare combo), but maybe you could find a deal.    They had a separate pool  where no kids were allowed.  When we were there, there was only 1 kid in the whole place.  We are saving up to go there again.  Hope this helps you!

I loved Zoetry!!! I really wish they would consider making it adults only because it just has an awesome romantic vibe. We only saw two kids when we were there, but they were older and well behaved. Glad to see someone else liked it!

  • I have stayed at a RIU in Jamacia and it was wonderful. The food was great, the rooms were clean and the staff was VERY nice. We also went to the Bahamas and had the option to stay at the RIU, we did not. I regret not staying at another RIU property- now when we have the chance to stay at a RIU, we will because it is so nice and not over the top expensive!

  • wow thank you so much!  Yeah I saw Zoetry and its a place that I ended up writing down as another option other than Riu Palace...and the vibe with Riu Palace was that it was a little more upscale than the regular RIU...and the reviews you can;t beat.

These responses are so helpful because its people's honest feedback, rather than just basing it on the websites and their pictures alone.

Yep- Riu Palace is their upper end line. They will be more luxurious than the Rius.
