Bora Bora Travel Time

Hello!

I lurk on here sometimes, but haven't posted.  FI and I just started discussing honeymoons for our Oct 2nd wedding in Philadelphia.  We are both really curious about Bora Bora/Tahiti and I love everything I've seen and heard.

For those of you who have been...how horrible is the travel from the East Coast?  Neither of us are thrilled about spending 20-30 hours to get somewhere. Plus I don't have a lot of vacation time to use, and will have to take unpaid days as it is.... just wondering how much it cuts into your honeymoon time and if its worth it.

We're also considering Greece and Hawaii as other options.  We looked at Fiji and Australia, but decided they were too far. I'm torn... I feel like this is my only chance to get to Bora Bora!  Any advice?

Thanks for the response!  It sounds like a great plan to break it up with a night in LA.  I'll do some more research on flights and flight times. Thanks for the feedback!

I'm not sure about the travel time either, but we flew from Denver to Beijing for our HM and it was 3 hours to L.A., 10 hours to Tokyo, and another 4 hours to China.  (Our flight to Tokyo was cancelled, so we had to spend the night in L.A. against our plans...)  It was definitely worth it once we got there.  But we did pay for upgrades, so that probably made a huge difference.

We are flying from Boston to Tahiti threw LA, and we are staying 1 night in LA on the way there and then 2 nights on the way back just to break up those long flights! It will probably also be nice to have a little transition from paradise back to the real world!!
