Sandals St. Lucia Grande VS Jamaica White House

We have narrowed it down to St. Lucia Grande and Jamaica Whitehouse.  We like the scenery at St. Lucia more and the amount of beach in Jamaica and cannot make up our minds.  Any opinions?

Our honeymoon was at the Grande in St. Lucia and our first anniversary was at Sandals Negril. Of the two, St. Lucia was much nicer. I can tell you, although Jamaican people are lovely, the vendors were a PITA. We made the mistake the one day of going off the resort. WOW, vendors up our butts. St. Lucia, no problems. Maybe one or two vendors here or there but that was it.

We've been both-- Grande in Jan. Whitehouse last week!
Both have their perks.

Grande you can stay there but eat at the other ones...
The Grande's beach is nice- but it's in a bay full of boats and people not on the resort.

Whitehouse- long beach but very sea weedy at times.
Totally private- you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.
Much more cozy than the Grande- Grande is kind of a party scene

Overall St. Lucia is a much prettier country with much better snorkeling.
But both resorts are great.

We just got back from our HM at the Grande (see pictures and review post further down in thread). I would say go with St. Lucia. Jamaica seemed a little unsafe when we were there.

I was just at Jamaica White House last week. I thought it was very nice. The staff was very friendly. I guess it depends what you're looking for. If you want to hangout on the beach, White House probably isn't the best choice, Lots of seaweed. The pools are very nice though. I felt very safe walking around the resort at night, Even when I was by myself just walking to the lobby.  The only thing is the ride from the airport to the resort is very long and not very pretty! My fiance and I are actually thinking about St Lucia Grande. Good Luck making your decision.

My FI and I are looking at St. Lucia Grande as well. I would go there over Jamaica because right now Jamaica is having a lot of turmoil. Right now the healthcare industry is striking due to low pay and unpaid wages by the government and it's affecting the hospitals. While Jamaica is lovely and the people are lovely it might not be the best time to venture down there
