Inexpensive caterer for a BBQ beach wedding???

Does anyone know of any inexpensive caterers for a BBQ wedding? I want it to be casual but still nice. Also if you have any menu ideas that would be great. Not hamburgers and hot dogs but not fillet mignon either. Any help would be great!
We are getting married at lighthouse point park in june 2012!

We used Ciao! Catering out of Danbury.  They also have a restaurant Two Steps in Danbury.  I know that they will do bbq catering.  They were by far the most reasonable caterers we met with AND had the best food. (We literally saved about $3-$4k using them, and got more food and better quality in the process compared to the others). They have a broad list of offerings on their website, but they can create pretty much anything for you that you want.  We didn't even look at their menus and they created a custom one for us from scratch.  Tom Devine is the person you would want to talk to, and he really goes out of his way to accommodate food likes and dislikes.  I assume that they would travel that far, but you should make your locale clear if you contact him just in case.

Hey! I looked into a BBQ wedding at LPP also. I'm also getting married there in June 2012, what's your date?
We looked into Planet BBQ Catering, Clambake connection, and some-one else. Seriously though, ask Sabrina! She has a lot of great tips! I liked Planet BBQ's menu... but they seriously dropped the ball with me, and then my mom. I was e-mailing the guy back and forth, and then he just stopped responding after about 3 emails. My mom decided to give him the benefit of a doubt... and what happened? He stopped e-mailing her as well after about 4 e-mails. So he's out, no third strike with us - but hey, maybe you'll have better luck with him. He also has sample menu's and pricing on their website, but they are very very resonable. Not just hamburg's and hotdog's either, grilled chicken, grilled steak, they will do a raw bar also.
    Good luck!

we're using David Alan Catering, who also has a bartending unit if you need it.  They really worked with us when we told them how much we could spend.  And they love to customize menus, I'm sure they could come up with a bbq menu.  They have their 2012 menus on the website now if you google them!

I was looking the other day, for fun, and found this:

    www.hamclam.com

I know nothing about them, but I thought if you're contacting people, it might be another name to add to the list. They do clam bakes, pig roast, general BBQ stuff.

    Good luck!

June 2nd. I am hoping to run across the bride here who has June 1st, so maybe we can coordinate decorating, if we have the same colors. Good luck with the BBQ caterers!

If you are looking for authentic BBQ, I would suggest Black-Eyed Sally's in Hartford. They will be catering our rehearsal. Their prices are reasonable, the food is great and they have some interesting add-ons. FI is a BBQ fan and it is his favorite in CT.

Danny's little taste of Texas does great BBQ but they don't necessarily cater (plastic plates, etc.) But they've done weddings and they're very inexpensive
Krause catering is a fantastic and very inexpensive catering company but they usually do a little more formal meals. We're having sea bass, apple stuffed chicken and acorn squash rissoto, but they have milions of recipes

Danny's all the way.  We're using them for our wedding and they have been nothing but wonderful.  They provide plastic service, but you can rent if you don't want it.  They also include servers in the price--and Danny has told us many times that they are there to help us with everything--even unrelated to catering issues.  They have been WONDERFUL.
We have eaten at Black Eyed Sallys and the food was good.  Trying to connect with them about doing an outside event was horrible though.  We just didn't have a good experience.
