Calligraphy

Can anyone recommend who they used.   What is a good price?  I want to have my save-the-dates done because my handwriting is like a 5th grader.

Save the Dates can definitely be printed - the etiquette that it has to be handwritten doesn't apply to those, I'm almost positive.

I downloaded a beautiful font on dafont.com, which is all free fonts to download (I picked Old Script, just FYI).  We plan on doing both STDs and invitations printed with this font directly on the envelope.  Yes, I know it's taboo for invitations, I'm just choosing to bunk that particular 'rule'.  However, there's no reason you can't do this for STDs!  The cheapest I've ever seen for calligraphy was $1 per envelope, and that just seems like a waste of money.

I agree with calindi.  We printed directly on the envelope for our STDs.

As much as a stickler I was for calligraphy for the wedding invitations. I just printed our STD addresses at home on our printer. If you do want to do calligraphy I'd save it for the invites as it can get a littlee pricey. We used a friend of my step-mothers but she's based in California and thats shipping ect. I usually see calligraphy go for about $2 per.

Do you have a parent or friend with nice hand writing? My MOH and father have great handwriting and did our STDs (they each did a pile and I didn't really care that they had different handwriting for this).

I printed our STD envelopes on the computer. For our wedding invitations I used a great calligrapher in Glastonbury and very reasonable, $1.50/envelope. Her name is Michelle Dowling and her business is Michelle Dowling Calligraphy. I've gotten great comments from my guests on how beautiful the front of the envelope was. We are going to use her again for our escort cards.
