Modern CT Venue?

Is anyone else finding it tough to find a really modern venue in CT? I've looked at a couple of the other threads, and the same 3 or 4 names of places keep popping up. I love the look of the Marquee, and have been in contact with the coordinator. I also like the modern and unique spin on Saltwater Farm VIneyards.  Is there anywhere with a similar look in CT? I'm looking at between 150-200, possibly late winter, early spring.

Try Farmington Gardens in Farmington! They are new and can definitely accomodate your party size. I booked for next July and can't wait!

I got married at Marquee and loved SaltWater as well, but couldn't get over the price.

I wouldn't call our venue at Mystic Seaport "modern" but Coastal Gourmet caters a much of other wedding venues, and they were really great to work with.
Maybe check out their list of venues for some more ideas (I think Saltwater is one of them): http://www.coastalgourmetct.com/venues.htm

    Good luck!

Thank you so much for your input, girls! I wrote an email to Farmington Gardens. I'd love some more information about them... apparently I had originally been looking at the wrong Farmington Gardens website! lol

On another note, anyone who's had a wedding at the Marquee- is there an area that would be suitable for a cigar roller or place to smoke cigars? I wasn't sure because it seems all indoors.

</div><div>There are actually a couple of sutiable places for this. Right in front of the building can be roped off, but you can also go out the back entrance and it looks right at Constitution Plaza.

Farmington Gardens is located on Route 4 in Farmington. They converted a greenhouse and the room is absolutely stunning! The place is fully up to date and the mangement really wants to cater to your every whim.

I know that they have a large patio that I think would be perfect for smoking cigars, you may even be able to have the cigar roller in the greenhouse! That would look very cool against the all glass surroundings!!!!

I spoke with Phil when I booked my wedding and I highly recommend him!

We just recently went and looked at The Lace Factory.  We were disappointed in it.  The pictures online definitely make it look much nicer than it is in person.  It's not particularly modern-looking, if that's what you're going for.

the lace factory near essex looked awesome, we were thinking of booking them for ours. It's an industrial loft-like space that could be very contemporary if you decorate it right. seems like you could really personalize the space. the reason we didn't choose them was they only work with 1 caterer. cute locale right near the river and steam train though!

Its so nice to see the postive reviews on Farmington Gardens! I am looking at four places Saturday (the Riverview, Farmington Gardens, The Bond, and the Marquee). Hoping we can choose one of the four, as it appears they are MUCH cheaper than here in Boston.
