I wanted an Islander garter and I had a hard time finding one.  I wound up getting it from www.funweddingthings.com. They were really nice and I was really happy with the garter (even though I lost it the day of the wedding before I could wear it!)

i got my custom garter from peterene design, and it came out great! the only thing is that even if you place the order early, she wont make it until just before the wedding. i ordered mine in july of last year for my january wedding, and i didnt get it until the middle of december because she had so many to make.

I got mine from Etsy seller Makethisdayspecial. It matches my colors and theme and even has an engraved heart dangling with our names and wedding date on it. Plus I got a matching toss garter with it as a set. PIB under The Look.

This brings up a question i've long wondered about...
After the whole groom tosses the garder & then the guy who caught it puts it on the girl who caught the bouquet, does the girl give it back to the bride?
I was under the impression that she didn't, it was hers to keep, and that's why I got such a cheap one. Am I wrong?

No, they keep it.  The woman who made my garter gave me a toss garter to be used for that part.

See this is what I thought, that whatever girl it gets put on keeps it. But I wasn't sure because I caught the bouquet at a wedding once & after the guy who caught the garder put it on me, the bride came up and demanded it back. I thought it was so strange, but gave it to her anyways.

I also ordered mine from the GarterLady on etsy. 

I actually am selling the first one I ordered from her because I decided it was a little wider than I wanted (pics in bio if interested)!  I really liked her work though so I ordered another one recently...hope to get it soon!
