cake= creative cakes by Donna she's awesome!
decor= try micheals, save on crafts.com, or AC Moore, also dont forget the Christmas tree shop and Homegoods.

    Happy planning!

I went to Eddy's Bake Shop in Ansonia. I found although Donna's cakes were delicious she was WAY over priced compared to all other decorators I found. However if you are looking for an extravagant cake she may be comparable.

Where are you getting married again?

We sampled with Chocolate Rose in Griswold (yummy but not super impressed) and You Take The Cake in New London- we booked her on the spot because we loved her cakes so much- she was super super affordable!

As far as decor goes, i would recommend looking around and collecting pictures that give you inspiration, then go through them with FI and narrow them down so you have a "look" of sorts.

I went to a wedding once that had real pumpkins as center pieces filled with flowers- so the insides were completely carved out and filled with beautiful red, orange and white roses...it was beautiful and I was so excited I got to take one home :)

also consider A Little Something Bakery in West Hartford.  They are really friendly and their goods are yummy.  They made our friend customized cakes for his proposal to his now Fiancee, in a matter of hours no problem

We got our cake/cupcakes at the sweet spot in new milford. yum!
The aquaturf is already pretty decorated, I think flowers is really all you need!
I used perfect princess events for my flowers. Helena did an AMAZING job! We had a fall theme and it was more than I ever could have asked for. We also had mums to decorate the inside, outside and dj/cake areas, along with hay bails, pumpkins and goards. Simple decor that everyone loved was mason jars with old family photos inside (to decorate the cake table and commemorate other family members' weddings).

Sweet Rewards in Brookfield did our cake and has done many cakes for us since, including a beautiful 3 tier anniversary cake for my in-laws.  Kelly makes wonderful tasty and beautiful cakes.

What is your color theme?  I have clover tablecloths, and twig votive wraps and mason jars if that is of any interest to you.

  • I'm an Aqua Turf bride too! I think you would be ok with just flowers and maybe chair covers if you choose. Our cake is being made by Mozzicatos in Hartford.
