Officiant

Please tell me who your officiant was and why you loved them. =) I'm trying to find one!

We had a Justice of the Peace because we are not religious ourselves and just wanted a simple ceremony.

Since we got married in Mystic, we wanted to avoid travel fees and found a JP local to Mystic.  We met with 1 who is apparently pretty infamous on TK, but found another experienced one as well and decided to go with him - Chaz Zezulka.

What we liked about Chaz was his organization - he had every detail accounted for and really made us think.  He had a wide range of samples of readings and vows to choose from.  He was personable and funny and kind, and from his stories he obviously encountered many unique situations.  He really meshed well with both of our personalities...he also came up with a unique verse to describe our personalized unity ceremony - a Knot Tying - that was beautifully written and got the point we were trying to make across

I am trying to find a JP right now, and really having no luck.  We are getting married 8/18/12 and both JP's we have contacted are already booked.  I could use some suggestions as well.  Thanks for this post!

Already booked? That makes me nervous as a 8/4 bride!

We used a JP too: Betty Allard.  We hit it off right away with Betty at our initial meeting and knew that she was the right JP for us. After talking with her for a short while, we felt like we had known her for years and we were very comfortable and relaxed (just what you want to be on your wedding day!). The ceremony that Betty wrote was absolutely beautiful and perfect for us! We have received many compliments on it from our guests. I would highly recommend Betty to anyone looking for a unique, non-religious ceremony conducted by a truly caring JP.
