Complicated question about transportation, advice needed!

Thanks to anyone who has actually read through my 3 posts tonight...just a lot of wedding stuff going on!

So, after my transportation rant, I figured out that I may have to be more flexable in figuring out my guest transportation. So here's as simple as I can make it: I am expecting 20-25 guests will need transportation. Trying to find a vehicle, non-luxury, to fit them all within my budget may not be possible. Why not just get one smaller shuttle, and have it make multiple trips? Here's why: we're providing transportaiton to the ceremony and reception (church has limited parking, trying to cut down as much as possible on cars). Technically, the shuttle could do 2 loops to the ceremony and 2 loops from the reception to the hotel (ceremony and hotel not in the same place), but it would be difficult to do 2 loops from the ceremony to reception. Our reception location can't let guests in until exactly 6:30, so making 2 loops would mean that one set of guests has to get there apx 40 minutes early and do....nothing...but stand outside. With a wedding in April, this would not be a nice thing to do to them. The distance between church/reception is about 20 minutes.

I don't know what to do. I can't seem to find a vehicle to fit 25 people in it within my price range, but two shuttles gets really complicated and may not turn out well. Thoughts?

That's so weird about Dattco- Did you call their charter department? 800-229-4879

    This was my contact person:
    Adrienne Young
    Charter Sales Representative
    Phone: 1-800-229-4879 ext. 687
    Fax: (860)612-0117
    Email: AdrienneY@DATTCO.com
    DATTCO Coach & Tour

Their communication was really great up until the wedding day.  The day of our wedding, the driver was interesting, to say the least....showed up way too early to pick up guests (better than late), then called my cell as I'm in the limo with my husband, wondering where the guests were....then he went MIA when people needed him late night.  But, he showed up, and, in the end, the shuttle served its purpose.

    Good luck!!!

My honest to goodness opinion is to forget transportation.

I think your heart's in the right place, but I've been paying attention to your posts and you've really done a lot to ensure the comfort and convenience of your guests.  That said, there comes a point when it's more than ok to let your grown adult guests drive the short distance between hotel/ceremony/reception.  Seriously, they can handle it.  Stop driving yourself mad over this.

Thanks everyone. I'm seeing what I can figure out, it's more about the lack of parking at the church (pretty much only street partking) with a parking lot down the road for use, if guests find it. I think I just need to let go a bit and whatever happens, happens...people will figure it out one way or another!
