A Few Questions about Mexico & the Carribean

Good Morning Ladies, this is the first time I've posted over here so hello!

FI & I are travelers, big time....but we live in Texas and have actually never been to Mexico.   We are adventurers, but think that after the wedding we are going to be ready to just relax and hit the beach and a few sights.  We fell in love with Antiqua but the most direct flight is 10 hours (with layovers), and we aren't sure we want to do heavy travelling for our honeymoon.  The problem is there are so many areas and so many AI options we are trying to sift through everything!

1.  What part of Mexico has the best (preferably not overcrowded) beaches?
2.  Any luxury adult-only all inclusive resorts you would recommend?
3.  Other advice or areas you might recommend?

In my opinion, the Riviera Maya is the best place in Mexico for a honeymoon.  It’s never too crowded and the beaches are absolutely gorgeous.  If you are looking for a place to stay, you have to check out Secrets Maroma Beach.  It’s an adults only, all-inclusive resort.  Secrets is located on the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen.  The service from the staff was fantastic, they went out of their way to make sure were having the best time.  We would lounge on the beach all day and they would bring us drinks and make lunch for us.  We also loved the Spa by Pevonia.  They had so many treatment options available; we stayed there for a whole day!  Good luck with your decision!

I also recommend the Riviera Maya! my FI and his family have gone to Barcelo Resort (all inclusive, private mile *i think* long beach) in the Riviera Maya for the past 4 years and I went for the first time this past summer and it was INCREDIBLE.  We are having a hard time finding a honeymoon spot because we can't find a place that compares (and we're already going back 3 months before our honeymoon...not that I would complain about going twice in one year!).

Hubby and I just returned from Excellence Playa Mujeres last night..absolutley reccomend!! Its beautiful, has great food, and the staff is great.  Def. worth checking out!

Really enjoyed Barcelo in Riveria Maya.  We went a few Novembers ago.  Heard amazing reviews about Moon Palace for a honeymoon.  Definitly check it out. 

You might want to consider Peurto Rico (Farjardo area).

Top pick for relaxing and avoiding the touristy spots is St Croix.  Carambola is incredible.  Not touristy at all so if you really want pampered it might not be the spot.
