Plumed Serpent

Awful!!  They ruined my dress 1 week before I was leaving for my destination wedding!  They couldn't fix it and flat out admitted that they should have known not to sell me the dress because all Vera dresses are small on top and it was impossible for me to see this by trying on a sample that was way too big for me.  They admitted  should have known this, since they are the professionals and do this all day. They ended up selling me a used sample dress that was way too big.  They had at least two seamstresses work on it, even though doing so went against company policy.  Then they tried to charge me a couple hundred dollars more for the "upgraded" dress.  Yes, you read that right.  It wasn't the dress I wanted, it was used and 6 sized bigger than the original dress, but they wanted to charge me full price. Remember, they already admitted the first dress should never have been sold to me!  I said no way.  They eventually decided that they wouldn't charge me any more money for the dress, but refused to give me any kind of refund for the dress that I didn't receive.  So, I was paying the same price as a new Vera Wang dress, when sample Rivini dresses are all over the internet for 3K less.  And, yes, after a week of stressing out, driving 1 hour each way to do additional dress fittings (which took time out of my work), and not being able to even try on the dress before the wedding I had to pay even more money for the alterations.  She eventually reluctantly agreed to split the alterations with me, but  I had to pay an additional $200. I tried to explain my frustrations.  I didn't get the service of their sales professionals (who sold me a dress they shouldn't), or their seamstress (ruined my first dress; outsourced 2nd dress to at least 2 different people).  They sold me a used sample dress that I had to pick in 10 minutes and only chose because it would work -not because I was in love with it.  All in the span of the 6 days before leaving for my wedding (when I really had a lot of other things to take care of!) I asked her what service she gave me that would justify paying $3,000 more than buying on the internet.  She didn't answer.

If you would like to see the pictures yourself or hear any more gory details (cause it actually got worse!), please email me at spanok@yahoo.com.  They are truly awful.

By the way, while they spent 3 hours trying to fix the dress, 3 other people came in and complained that the dress ordered was the wrong size.  I brought this to their attention and all other appointments were made after hours - at their suggestion.  Hmmm.......wonder why...........

OMG! I just left that fine establishment.....NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses in January and just got them today. Wedding in two weeks. They said they have been sitting there since June 23rd and emailed me once on June 23 to let me know. They never called me or any of my girls to tell us the dresses were in. Its August 31st!!

I never got an email on June 23rd!

When I picked up the dresses today, the owner, Allison, said they are too busy with brides to call people. Amazing right? So you expect everyone to pay in full before an order get placed but you or staff cant pick up a phone to say your dresses have finally arrived (they were delayed once already).

Why do you take all our phone numbers then?

I will never ever refer Plumed Serpent to anyone for any event. They have the typical snotty westport attitude and could care less because they have your money already.

    Live and learn!
