Wearing your veil at the reception? *POLL*

Hi Ladies,

I was talking with my mom and grandmother yesterday and mentioned that I wanted to take my veil off for the reception.  They both though I was crazy and told me to ask you girls what your thoughts were. (I rave about the recommendations and support there is on the CT board!)

I had a long cathedral length veil so I DEFINITELY took it off before cocktail hour.  As it was, people were stepping all over it during our ceremony pictures haha.

Mines birdcage with a facistor that disconnects! I'm leaving the hairpiece but loosing the veil before our entrance since i'm unable to move it in any good looking position bedises in front of my face.

My veil just went down my back to hip length.  I kept it on for the reception.

Looking back, it got caught on my bustle pin so if I could have to do it over again, I would have had some detail in my hair and the veil would have been off after our first dance.

Definitely took mine off.  Mine was waltz length (about to mid calf).  I could have kept it on I guess, but I didn't want to have to worry about it.  We also did a traditional chinese tea ceremony in between cocktail hour and dinner.  I changed into a traditional red dress and then back into my wedding gown after that.  There's no way I was going to worry about taking off and putting back on my veil with all of the changing.

I have a cathedral length veil so I will definitely be taking it off before the reception.  I will be replacing the veil with a pearl beaded headband with a flower on it for the reception!  I think it is such a fun way to transition from the formal ceremony to the reception.  I got the headband from White Dress By the Shore.

</div><div>That's such a cute idea!  I was thinking of replacing my veil with a flower that I ordered from etsy.  It's a white flower with a cluster of pearls and swarovski crytals in the center.</div><div>

I'll be wearing it up until the reception.  I bought a little feathery, flower with beads/pearls to put in my hair.  I'm just afraid that it's going to get in the way as well and I also thought that it would be a cute transition from formal to fun!

I hadn't really thought about it. I guess I will wear it for part of the reception at least.

I could hardly keep my cathedral length veil on through our formal pictures! It kept blowing around everywhere and getting twisted around itself. It was beautiful in pictures, but a major pain in the arse in person. For the reception, I wore a white gardenia in my hair.

I also had a cathedral length veil and two tier blusher.  After family photos at church I planned to keep it on for pictures at our venue but it was so long and it was so hot that day that I had to take it off once we got to our venue. I think I even took the cathedral length off on the party bus (it was detachable & velcro). Overall I was happy that I took it off an even more comfortable at the reception with it off!

I plan on just wearing mine for the ceremony and the entrance. After that Im going to take it off.  It will end up driving me crazy if I have it on all night.

Mine was fingertip-length.  It was on my head the whole night!

Mine was elbow length. I think I kept it on for the first dance then removed it for the rest of the reception.

Mine's cathedral length - I'm taking that sucker off as soon as I get back down the aisle!!!  We're taking bridal portraits and couple pictures and immediate family pictures before the ceremony, so I'm perfectly fine with the rest of my photos being without that (gorgeous but annoying) veil!
