Where in CT are you from? I live in Mystic and I know a few people who have had a BBQ/ Clambake near me. Ocean Blue Catering is an awesome company I've never heard a bad comment about them plus they do travel.  I went to a clambake that they did it was perfect but they are on the pricer side. Chester's BBQ has great food at a great price and they will go to you too.

thank you for the suggestions i'm going to check them out. the main problem i'm having is a place to hold the ceremony and reception. i found a lot of caters but it seems like all the venues want to use there own caterers and things. i really need like a giant back yard!!!

Mystic Seaport at the "boat shed" (It's actually more like a pavillion)!  I had my wedding at Mystic Seaport (at the Latitude Restaurant) and they let you hold the ceremony and reception there :)

    Good luck!

I was going to vote for Mystic Seaport also! Check out Eolia (spelling?) mansion at Harkness Park in Waterford, CT and The Branford House at Avery Point in Groton, CT also- both beautiful venues where you can bring your own vendors in.

Im getting married in June too. I'm doing a BBQ at lighthouse point. You can get married an hold the reception. It's gorgeous but you need your own caterer. I know all the Saturdays in June are booked so I chose a Friday night. You can also look into Anthonys lake club in Danbury. I went there and was considering it until I found lighthouse. They have a deck overlookin a gorgeous lake for you to hold the ceremony. And they also offer a BBQ menu. Good luck!

Ditto the Seaport! They have a lobster clambake menu for the Boat Shed, like Karebear said. I also got married there, except it was in the River Room of Latitude 41 (so a little bit more formal).  You can have your ceremony either outside on the Seaport grounds or in an older non-denom. Church (Greenmanville Church).

    Good luck!

Check out Farmington Gardens in Farmington! I am getting married there next July. They have a real nice sized yard. Also check out the Aqua Turf, they have a lot of grounds!

The carousel House at Lighthouse Point in New Haven is on the beach. You can bring your own caterer.  Also depending on how big your wedding is there are TONS of house rentals if you're looking for something small.

I'm not sure how the packages work at Water's Edge, however, I know you can have your ceremony there and I've worked clambakes.  I haven't worked a wedding clambake, but I'm sure you could do it.  I think it depends on how big your guest list is because the outdoor areas for a reception are not very big.

I know Amarante's in New Haven also has a "clam bake" menu option/party theme

I third Lighthouse Point Park, but you might have to move quickly for a June wedding!
