Re: Ontario honeymoon ideas

  • Ottawa, Quebec City, Montreal, or  if you are not the sightseeing type you could rent a private cabin up in Muskoka.
  • Niagara Falls - us side, more park like setting, canadian side, better views more commercialized
Welland Canal - if you like that stuff, kidna fun and interesting if you're driving by as a pit stop
Stratford - Shakespear Festival runs all summer
Crystal Beach, Ontario - never been, but always heard about it
African Lion Safari - a blast if you like zoo's and animals

Niagara on the lake - You can rent villas there in the summer and go on wine tours.  There are biking wine tours.  It is a beautiful town.

Muskoka - Lots of resorts, campsites, housekeeping cottages or cabins to rent on lakes.

Those are my top 2 Ontario pics for pretty.

For quebec - Montreal is fun and Tremblant is pretty gorgous.

  • I've heard great things about this couples resort:

FI and I are considering it for our own honeymoon. :) We've had several people we know highly recommend it.
  • Niagara on the Lake is beautiful and just a little past the commerical Niagara falls.

Montreal is a little more European-like.  Especially Old Montreal.

Mont Tremblant is a ski town but is goregorous year round.

I lived in Ontario for 6 years and never went to Ottawa...but I would goto Quebec.
  • Niagara on the Lake is one of the best wine tasting areas in the continent, IMO! We used to go to the ice wine festival every year. It has gorgeous B&Bs, shops, restaurants...

but Montreal is also one of my favorite places. It feels like you're taking a mini trip to Europe. It has great history, delicious foods, and a ton of festivals so you could check if there are any around your HM time.
