Does anyone have any experience with the Catalonia Royal Tulum? The reviews are overwhelmingly positive, but almost every single review also mentions that the resort caters more to Europeans than Americans. Has anyone ever experience this?
If we stay at this resort which looks great, we have $500 for excursions. We're also looking at Valentin Imperial Maya. This resort looks great, but it maxes out our budget. Basically if we stay here we have no money for excursions.
Also, we were considering renting a condo. Has anyone done this in the Playa del Carmen area? Our only hesitation is we have no idea how much food is going to cost us. Has anyone done this and do you recall roughly what you spent per day? I know this is like asking "If I go to NYC what should I budget for food?" but we're thinking grocery store dinners a couple nights, one nice dinner, and then the rest at cheapish restaurants if they exist.
Thoughts?
