We've been able to (or, I should say H has been able to..) do most of the renovations in our house. However, the flooring has been neglected.
He sanded down the natural hardwood in all the rooms.
Stained the living room, and put 1 thin coat of protectant. So within a couple months, it's all scratched up, plus spots of paint from him not being careful when painting.
He stained the hallway, but didn't protect that, so that's even worse.
He installed cheap carpet in 2 bedrooms, and didn't really cut right, so it doesn't look very nice. Plus, carpeting the closets confused him, so there is no carpet in the bedroom closets, haha.
We are going to get the 2 bedrooms that are currently carpet, re-carpeted - by a professional.
I wanted your opinion on our living room / hallway. He does not want real hardwood, because clearly he doesn't want to do the upkeep. So should we do carpet, or a vinyl floating (looks like hardwood) floor? (we can't do laminate, because that does not to well with moisture, and our house has very high humidity)
Do any of you have a vinyl floating floor?
What do you think we should get?
Price-wise, we were quoted $2-5/sqft installed for carpet and $5-7/sqft installed for the vinyl floating.
