Secrets Capri-- Riviera Maya?

Has anyone been to this resort? My fiancee and I were told by a friend that this is "the" honeymoon destination in Riviera Maya but some of the reviews I have read have been questionable regarding the size of the beach, color of the water, etc. I'm still confident that it's a nice place to stay but I'm wondering if it's the best place for us to go on our honeymoon.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

i am staying at secrets capri.  we are so excited and the reviews in general on trip advisor were great.  i think that maroma is a little bigger and generally has a "younger" crowd/vibe to it.  i have seen a lot of people on this board honeymooning to these resorts.  talk to a travel agent and see what they have to say, it really helped us make our decision!

We just went there in April for my 30th birthday.  It's a nice resort and we liked that the size is smaller.  The beach isn't huge but quite adequate.  Also we found more people tended to select chairs by the pool so we never had issues finding a nice palapa by the beach.  While we were there the water was not very clear but we arrived right after the crazy rainstorms had passed through so I'm sure that affected the water.  

I will say that almost everyone there was celebrating something, honeymoon, anniversary, birthday etc.  (They put banners on the doors for honeymoons and anniversaries so it's obvious).  For my long birthday weekend it was fine but I would not have wanted to spend my honeymoon at a resort where everyone else was also on their honeymoon so that might be something to consider.  It was a great property with a fabulous spa though.

We went there for our honeymoon last month and loved it.  We too liked that it was smaller.  The food was good, the service was great, and overall we were thrilled that we picked it.  Yeah, there are other people there on their honeymoon but that didn't matter to us at all.  It certainly doesn't take anything away from your own honeymoon.

As far as the beach goes, it is smaller but there is plenty of room and most people go to the pool.  So the beach won't be overcrowded.  We personally loved that the beach was small because we were in an ocean front room on the first floor.  We could walk right out our patio to the beach which was about 25 feet away.  So with the beach being small we could lay in bed and feel like we were right next to the ocean.

If you book there I definitely recommend getting a high enough level room that you get the eternity honeymoon package is included (I would totally recommend an ocean front room).  The dinner on the beach that is included was absolutely incredible and the spa was amazing too.

I would totally go back and I'm so glad we picked Secrets Capri for our honeymoon.  We felt like it was definitely the best place we could have picked for the amount of money we wanted to spend.

I think Secrets Capri would be perfect for your honeymoon. It’s a fabulous adult’s only all-inclusive that sits on a great beach with the most beautiful blue water. The resort is extremely intimate with just under 300 rooms and offers the perfect balance between relaxation and fun. You and your future hubby can spend your time lounging on the beach or take part in a number of different activities. I do have to say that the snorkeling at Secrets Capri is amazing since the world’s second largest barrier reef is located right off shore. Finally, if you do choose this resort, be sure to book a swim-out room for that extra little bit of privacy and romance, you won’t regret it!
