Royal Playa Del Carmen or El Dorado Royale??

I have done so much research and have been going back and forth between the two!! They are both in the Riviera Maya which in general I am excited about!!

If anyone has been to either and has any comments, suggestions or whatever can help I'd appreciate it!

While I'm here, any excursion suggestions for the Riviera Maya in general??

We honeymooned at EDR and have nothing but amazing things to say about it!  It was perfect for us!  We stayed in a private casita that felt like our own world---our own world with 24-hour room service, that is.

We did a lot of excursions.  Our favorite was a little bit of a trip--a tour of Coba, an ancient Mayan pyramid that you can actually climb.  The whole trip--including a cenote experience (essentially, a sinkhole), took about 7 hours of our day.  It was worth it for us!

We didn't make any plans before we left.  In hindsight, I wish I was as organized as you girls!  My brain was just too preoccupied by the wedding.  But, in the end, we were able to access all the information we need on-site to make our plans.
