Riu Cancun

We are staying at the Riu Cancun for our honeymoon in a couple weeks.  Anyone have any tips or advice.  Never been to Cancun.

    You will have a blast!!...We stayed at the Riu Caribe and it was great... You have access to Riu Caribe and the Riu Palace also so you can check them out and  eat there too.  Have fun!!

    We stayed at the Riu Palace when we went in 2007.  The restaurants (the ones you have to make reservations for) were great and the hotel and grounds were beautiful.  We went the week of July 4 and it was hot, hot, hot!

    went to the Riu in the Bahamas 4 years ago and it was OK..not great..not bad either.

    Never stayed at the Riu but I've been to Cancun many times and love it. Enjoy your hotel (it is lovely) but don't be afraid to venture out into the rest of cancun for shopping and nightlife. The bus is dirt cheap (although I forget how much exactly). But I guess I should mention that the nightlife is geared toward the more "clubby, drinky drunky partytime" crowd then the calm and more mature and chill crowd. This might be right up your ally or not so much, I know I always loved it!
