poll: favorite cars?

i thought this would be fun since alexia's thread turned into a discussion about everybody's favorite cars. is there a certain make of car that you prefer over others?

i'll start. acuras. i once had an integra and WILL have an mdx one day. :)

I shall rate mine in order from least to greatest and in order of what we'll realistically be able to afford most likely to I wish.

    1. VW Tiguan
    2. VW Toureg
    3. Audi Q7 and BMW X5 are tied for most favorite coveted vehicles.

MDXs are pretty sweet.  I drove one when I babysat for a certain family.

I just prefer Euro over Jap - buuuut, it's a GREAT/really NICE ride.

Current budget or future, dream budget? I'll answer all :)

    Current:
Family: VW Jetta - super cute!
    Wifey: Mazda Miata hard top

    Future:
    Family: BMW X5
    Wifey: Infinity G37 convertible

    Dream:
    Family: TBD
    Wifey: Aston Martin DBS Volante

All but the X5 would have six speeds on the floor. The X5 would if that was an option but there's no manual transmission available :(

Oh, I like this breakdown - minus the Miata, not a huge fan.  It feels soooo tiny to me.

<div>I drove one in high school and early college. It's surprisingly roomy inside but super tiny on the road. I got T-boned in mine and walked away, though, so I think it's still reasonably safe!</div>

Well if it wasn't obvious already I am a big VW fan which is funny because I grew up in Flint, MI which is a total GM city (or it was) so you would think I would be an American car girl.  But I am not...

I like Whitney's post so I think I will work off that :)

    Current:

    VW Tiguan

    Future:

    Family - VW Toureg
    Wifey - VW Eos

    Dream:
Hmm, tough call.  I might have to give that one some thought

MDXs are nice cars!  My old boss had one and it was cool.

Brit I can't see how an Equinox would be too small for anyone, lol!

I LOVE my Hyundai Elantra! It has everything I could want - sunroof, iPod jack, backseat for the kiddo... lol! I don't think I'd even go up to one of their mid-size sedans in the future, because I'm very intentional about conserving gas. In my dream world, I would have a hydrogen-powered car, but I don't see that happening. So one day, when the hybrid or electric cars have been refined and they're more affordable, that's what I'll go for.

I used to have a list of dream cars I lusted after, but I don't really have any desire to buy a luxury car anymore. Maybe one day we'll get a volvo or beamer or something since they do have good safety features, but the safety ratings on my current car are pretty kickarse and I get better gas mileage.

I really like my Altima. I drive it to death (it has like 128k miles on it) and H wants to get me a new car, but I don't really feel like I need a new car- I'd rather get a new house. :)   But we had been thinking about a Saab 9-3 Convertible. I also really liked his old car- he had a G-35 (the 2 door) and I was really sad when he traded it in.

If we're talking like a dream car, I'd get a V-12 Vanquish or a Bentley Continental convertible.

OMG I love the BMW X5s! I have a Ford Escape right now and love it. It isn't really a grown up car, so for a grown up car I would like either a fast sedan or the lexus SUV or something like that.
My way long term dream car is def the Porsche Cayenne Turbo!

I keep trying to tell him to sit up straight and it would be better but he says it still doesn't help. He's 6' 8" so he says there isn't enough leg room. I don't know if a Tahoe would be much better, but that's about as big as I'll go. lol

@Stardust - I would have loved to get a Honda Fit! The insurance company only gave me like a week to find a new car (my Nissan was totaled) and the Honda dealership in the area said there was a month-long waiting list. Notsomuch!

Britt - 6'8" is a big hunk of man! lol He may have a tough time fitting in any car - though my cousin's DH is 6'4" and does just fine in their Altima... *shrugs*

He actually had an Maxima before I met him (I think he said the Altima wasn't comfortable for him) but now he has 2 trucks instead.

We prefer imports :) Ryan's project car is his 240sx, a sweet little coupe with turbo :D and we have a Camry SE. Our dream car would definitely be the Skyline GT-R or a McClaren..We sort of bought the Camry for future family use..lOl

Britt- FI is 6'4" and had a tahoe and fit very comfortably in it so 6'8" would prob fit pretty good.
FI now has a F-150 King Ranch and its so roomy that he doesn't even have to have his seat all the way back to his legs to reach the peddles comfortably. But I doubt you want to drive a F-150 (plus its A LOT bigger than the tahoe) but the tahoe should be fine for him to sit in. FI hates my Escape because he says its too small for his legs and he can't get comfortable in it- I'm 5'3" and find it just the right size! hah
