November - All Inclusive

I have never travelled outside of the US (except to Canada) and my FI has only travelled to Mexico once on a mission trip so it was not to a resort by any means. We are getting married November 6th and would like to go to the Caribbean for an all-inclusive vacation.

We're starting from scratch though - is it best to get a travel agent (I have AAA) and let them do the dirty work? Sandals looks like a nice resort but we don't know the difference between the different areas in the caribbean.

Re: November - All Inclusive

  • Working with a travel agent has really saved me time and energy... they know the resorts, get feedback from their other clients and send you to the place that matches your needs.

Beach Bum Vacation is a great group of agents... I have worked with Elise(currently for our anniv. trip) and Steve in the past and BOTH are great!  I sent Elise my budget and my wants (which wasnt much) and we landed on The Royal Playa Del Carmen and are super excited about it!
  • I totally agree...we are using a Sandals specialist.  Jennifer at VIP Vacations is wonderful and ultra quick with price quotes.
www.travelbyvip.com is the website.  Got her info from tons of knotties!
  • Have you thought about a vacation to the Dominican Republic? It’s a great island in the Caribbean and actually one of my favorites. I really think you and your future hubby would really enjoy it! Be sure to check out Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana. Secrets Sanctuary is a great, adult’s only, all-inclusive hotel that is extremely romantic. It would be the perfect place to spend some down time. The resort boasts an amazing beach and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel right at home. Good luck with your decision!
  • I know! We are having a hard time deciding simply because we've never been anywhere like this before, so we have everything to choose from.
  • I am also getting married November 6th and want to honeymoon in the Caribbean.  It is SO hard to decide...and the tripadvisor website reviews are driving me crazy  because there is always a bad one that makes me skeptical.  I'd love to hear what you decide on!  Good luck!
  • We booked 7 days/6 nights at Sandals Royal Bahamian. Nancy has been nothing but helpful deciding what to do. With roundtrip airfare and an upgraded room (concierge service, in room bar, oceanview balcony (yes, we may only see the ocean from the corner but still), etc. it came in at $4200 which was our budget.
