Good luck for the first day of school! I kinda miss that and don't miss it at the same time...! (I teach for FLVS now, so there's no first or last day.) Hope you and all the other teachers have a great year. :):):)

Pre-planning was a bit rough: I'm the only one on my team who's taught the grade and subject before, and District was so kind as to send us their brand new instructional timeline on Wednesday... the kids come back Monday!

Hi Alyssa! Wow, that's weird. :) E-mail me... chasing.warblers at gmail. I have LOTS to love about FLVS right now, so feel free to pick my brain! I promise to tell you the good and the bad, though, as much as I know of it. It's definitely not for everyone. I just started teaching with them at the end of June, so I'm very much a noob right now. ;) Anyway, talk to you soon!

i got the pre-k job and they start back on Monday. I have never been in a pre-k class but thank god the class is co-taught and I met the other teacher and she has decorated the room and knows the curriculum. I have to go in Monday to speak with HR and I will prob start soon after! Till then, they are having a sub in the class. I wasn't able to do pre-planning or anything. It was REALLY last minute.

*jumps on FLVS bandwagon w/emerlyn* Alyssa-Parula, me too! I'm looking into FLVS as an option if I don't get into grad school next spring. TIA :)

H is a 3rd grade teacher. They moved his classroom and grade level so  there was a lot to help him out with! That is why I have been MIA, too. I hope all you teachers have an awesome first week! I am booked solid for subbing the first week of school so I know my week will be good. =)

In Brevard we are already into the 3rd week of school..I am glad to get them over with! How are all the elem teachers feeling about the FAIR testing?? I am totally overwhelmed! I am also interested in the virtual school. I think it would be great for new moms...which I am planning on trying after the wedding...I heard they have or are adding an elem. program...I just don't understand how it could work?? I can see it working in HS..but not like 1st grade?
