VALENTIN IMPERIAL MAYA

My husband and I got married on June 19, 2010 and spent our honeymoon at the Valentin Imperial Maya in Mexico. Upon arriving, we were greeted with a glass of champagne and led to the check-in area/main lobby of the hotel which was absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very pleasant and checked us in quickly (we never touched our bags once we left the airport- they take care of it for you). Unfortunately, we arrived early and our room was not ready but we were able to go get lunch at one of the fabulous restaurants and have several drinks. When our room was ready (we were in building 5 close to the pool) they loaded our bags and drove us to our building. They carried the bags up to the room for us. The room was beautiful (junior deluxe suite) - marble everywhere! My husband and I both felt that the pictures that we had seen online of the Valentin Imperial Maya did not do it justice - it was even better than the pictures! The rooms were beautiful as well as the Spanish style all throughout the resort. We both felt that this resort was well worth the money that we spent.  The main pool at the resort features two swim up bars. There is plenty of room in the pool  for everyone and entertainment and music every day. The entertainment staff was very entertaining and nice. The bartenders were always quick and courteous with drinks and know how to make everything!!  Unfortunately, we did not spend much time at the beach/ocean as the waves were rough when we were there but the beach is big and very nice - also with a bar and waitresses to bring you drinks : ) The restaurants are unbelievable (total of 7 for dinner). Japanese, Italian, Mexican, French, Indonesian, Steak House, Lobster Pot. The breakfast and lunch buffets have anything and everything you could want to eat. All the food was delicious! The only bad thing that I have to say is the room service food is not the best - edible - but not that great. We couldn't have been happier about the picking the Valentin Imperial Maya for our honeymoon and would go back in a heartbeat! They treat you like kings and queens : )
