Keratin Hair Treatment

Hey girls...I posted this on Wedding Day Beauty but with no help. I was wondering if anyone has had this treatment done and how it worked for them. I am getting it done right before our Epics. Since my hair is so frizzy from this humidity my hairdresser said it will be beautiful and silky for 4 to 6 mos. Any help would be great! Thanks!

I have a friend that works in a salon and she said this treatment is amazing... as long as it is done correctly.

Is this sort of thing a good idea if you have fine hair? I have a lot of hair and it gets kinda poufy when it's humid, but the strands themselves are pretty fine. Would it make fine hair look limp afterward, do you think?

I am not sure about the fine hair. My hair is so thick that I have the opposite problem. I will let you girls know how it goes. It is pretty pricey though. But Orlando is much cheaper than these fancy litte salon's in Melbourne. I love my hairdresser in Orlando so much I drive to her whenever I need my hair done. People think I am crazy but it is also an excuse to hang out with my BF in Orlando and get some good shopping in!

i actually asked my hair stylist about this yesterday and she said it lasts about 2 months, fyi! she said it's awesome. it doesn't make it limp or straighten it. it just helps avoid frizz! i think she charges $200, if that helps.

Yeah definitely pricey... the place my friend works at is $400 for short hair, $500 for shoulder length, and $600 for long hair... EKKKKKKKKK.  So don't go anywhere in Winter Park lol.

Winter Park is out of control with those prices!!! My hairdresser off of Kirkland is charging 150-200 depends on how much product they have to use. She said since my hair is thicker..it is shorter than my siggy pic above my shoulders now...it will be more like 200...and I can't wash it for like 4 days after!!! I am having it done on Oct. 7th and Epics are the 13th! Hoping it will be fresh and beautiful by then!!!

I am curious to know how you do.  My hair person in The Villages told me about this.  Said it depends on how fast your hair grows on how long it will last.  He said it'd be about $200 but with that you get $100 worth of products.  He said you have to use the Keratin products afterword for it to last.I have fine hair and I get frizz really easy b/c of it.  Keep us posted!

I've had it done and I LOVE it. I have tons of thin hair so my hair gets totally out of control in the summer. Here are a few tips I could give. First off, you can't wash your hair for almost 4 days after the treatment. It can't be put in a clip or hair tie, nothing, just an FYI, If you take care of your hair by using a specific (something)free...I know, it would be helpful if I could remember what it should be free of...well, whatever it is, if you use the special shampoo it will last much longer than the 2 months. It's been about 4.5 months for me and my hair is still doing great. Also, the first week it's a little "limp" compared to what you are used to, so make sure you take this into consideration for pics. But, other than that it was AMAZING. You can sleep on damp hair, wake up, breeze the hot blow dryer on it for a minute and it lets go of any puffiness...I could keep going but I'll stop now. If you have any other questions, let me know :-)

Thank u so much for the info...I think the word you were trying to say was free from sulfates?? That is that new shampoo that Eva Longoria is a spokesmodel for. I will ask my hairdresser...I am worried about the not washing it or putting it back in a clip...I am an everyday hairwasher because my roots get oily...I am excited to see how it turns out though!
