cheap places...

hi, i have been engaged for seven months now but was planning to get married in feb of 2011. my fiance would like to move the date up now to this upcoming march so his grandmother can attend. i am working with about a $12,000 budget and have always wanted to get married on the beach. does anyone know of any good places in central florida or close beaches that are cheap and not at a hotel??? i know of paradise cove by lake buena vista but dont want to have the wedding there. any advice on cheap beach or beach like weddings in or near central florida? thank you!!

Hmmm well cheap beachfront...just need to have some creative ideas and not too many guests because it is on the smaller side...http://www.satellitebeach.org/Recreation/RecClubhouse.htm/

I have been to a wedding there before and it was nice and intimate...the couple got married on the beach and then we walked up to the reception...worth it to check out...but how many guests are you inviting?

see thats my problem. i would love to just have 40-50people but just immediate family w/ both of us is around 90 people. this is why i am having such a hard time on how to make it cheap with that many people coming!!

well that place that I sent you said it seats 70 ppl and if you invite 90 I am sure not all would come...are you in orlando? because how many people would really be willing to come over to the beach?

Honestly alotf those 90 would come (I really have 115 on my invite list)! Anyway the majority of the people coming are flying in from out of town so it wouldn't bother them to just fly into south fl. This place looks cute and its def worth looking more into. Thank you!

There is a bigger place that is reasonably priced but not on the beach...it is on the river and the view is beautiful...it is a community center and it would hold a lot of people. It is called Front Street in West Melbourne...but it books really quickly so you need to be fast. It isn't the beach, but it is waterfront...

my friend got married here near Daytona Beach. She got married on the beach of Ponce Inlet (which I think u only have to have a permit or something to do, and its very cheap) and then they drove down the street about 1 mile to the reception at the Wilbur Boathouse in Ponce Inlet. I think you only have to pay a flat fee to rent the Boathouse for a whole day. If you have about 90 people I'd recommend renting a tent. The boathouse is big but it might be cramped trying to fit everyone inside. They have a HUGE deck that overlooks the river and I've seen pics of people putting up a tent so that people can go in or outside. U can see it at wilburboathouse.com

Have you looked into Paradise Cove?

I am getting married at the University Club of Orlando (downtown). Although it isn't close to the beach they don't charge a fee to use their venue and their food is amazing. Justin (event director) has been so amazing and they can help you with whatever you need. You can email me at my screename at aol dot com if you would like some more info! HTH!

my sis got married at the palm beach pavilion / community center located on singer island. it's brand new and on the beach. "community center" makes it sound awful but it's actually a cute little venue, very south florida in feel. you can have your ceremony under covered deck outdoors, then head upstairs for your reception afterwards. it's bare bones, though- so you'd need a caterer, tables, linens, decor, bartender, the works. but it's a very pretty place and you can open the doors upstairs onto a veranda/balcony that looks out onto the ocean for a nice breeze. here's a photo of it:

i just realized it's the palm beach SHORES community pavillion. in the photo above, the left side is what faces to the ocean but you can't see it obviously in the photo. the only other photos i could find online are located here: http://townhall.ci.palm-beach-shores.fl.us/photos_community_center_grand_opening_011108/index_frame.htm i believe it's governed by the town of palm beach shores so if you need more info about it you should start by looking them up. GL!
