wedding locations?

My fiance and I have wanted our wedding on a beach, but our families are driving us crazy because NOBODY lives near the beach we wanted to get married on. So after some discussing, my fiance and I decided we would look around the central Florida area for a nice location. Any suggestions? I would like an outside ceremony, maybe a pretty garden or somewhere, and an inside ceremony. We have a budget. I found a place over by St. Pete for $6000.00 and that included the ceremony, reception, dinner, decorations, set up and break down. I would like to stay under $6000, maybe even less if possible. I saw that the west coast Fl board had somebody who poosted a website that gave a whole bunch of locations for weddings. Does Central FL have something like that? Well thanks in advance!

Welcome! (Nice to meet another dancer, btw!) There are a few garden options around Orlando - Leu Gardens (not my favourite, it's no secret), Mean Gardens, English Gardens, Cypress Grove, Polasek Museum (freakin' gorgeous, most likely our location as long as dates work out), there's Paradise Cove if you want to keep with the beach idea. What's the place you're considering in St. Pete? I'm looking over there, too, so I'm curious... Sarahsmile, I just thought about this - my FI called Town Manor to inquire there and he said the lady on the phone was kinda stank with him so he nixed them right away. I hope they were nicer to you!

Ah, it's ok, I think it would have been a tough location for us to manage anyway, but I thought that was odd. I couldn't see you putting up with that sort of 'tude.

LAke Mary Event Center has a nice outside area and inside areas as well.  You would have to get a caterer but they have a list to choose from and what you pick from them and how many people you have would drive the rest of your costs.Good Luck and Welcome!

I couldn't see you putting up with that sort of 'tude. I'm pretty laid-back (even though i am blunt and honest!)and loved the venue, so a total monster could have managed it and I still might have booked there! I thought Nandy was very nice. I thought some of their rules were annoying, but I didn't have any problems with her!

Maybe whoever he talked to was having an off-day. Or maybe it's FI. He can be uppity sometimes.

I know I'm a little late on this one, but Maitland has a few nice places - Lake Lily Park, Quinn-Strong Park, or the Maitland Art Center.  All of these venues are outside and have an indoor reception area within walking distance. HTH!
